Don't be mistaken, there were a lot of Tamil people who were saved by Sinhala people.
When the Brits were controlling Sri Lanka, most of the top Govt. jobs were given to Tamil people. This was now stopping and the Tamils were getting worried because they were not getting all the "Summa" jobs.
