Hello - We lived on the beach during the filming of Top Gunn and Kelly, Tom and the cast visited us at our home. I was going to purchase the house but timing was bad. I was going to use the house as a type museum and TV productions and move it close by. We sold our Beach Apartments in 2004. Thx for the blog.

It's too bad that Oceanside won't save this house as a historical landmark, I live 6 miles inland from this house and it would be adorable as a bed and breakfast inn. Oceanside just cares about the money and not the historic values of property.

I lived in Oceanside back in the 70's and just watching this video brings back so many wonderful memories.I would walk down to the beach and pass right by the house.It was such a beautiful neighborhood back then,when the house was painted in a dark brown color.Got to go back to visit a year ago and the neighborhood isn't there anymore.Too many condo/resort properties have taken over this beautiful small beach town.Saw the house all boarded up,how sad.

The house is still there. I took pictures of it just this morning while on a trip to the pier. Cool little house. Maybe someone can move it.

Another sad thing is that I used to walk by there all the time, we could always see a light on inside when we would take our evening walks on the beach. Then one week later the house was boarded up, evidently they made the person living there move out. Sad.

So sad they are tearing it down to build vacation rentals or condos? Not quite sure. It may be gone by now. I moved to Laguna Niguel a year ago and haven't been back to Oceanside since.
