Good evening :)
The song you are listening to needs a little background information in order for you to fully understand what is going on in the lyrics aha :) hope you'll read this first!
This song is written about the story of my Grandma and Grandpa Freeland. They have been married for 60 years now, that's 3 times the length of the short life I have lived! I find this extremely inspirational and heart moving, as I hope you do too. They were married in the fall of 1952, thus the title of this song, and the lyrics.
Although my Grandma suffers from Alzheimer's and isn't quite the same Gramma that I remembered growing up as a kid, my grandpa still tells her that he loves her, to this very day :)
This song is kind of their story, as they grow with each other and learn to say I love you through every part of life.
This song could also be said to be an exact reflection of my heart; I pray every day for a love that is as unconditional as theirs and honestly can't wait to venture into that part of my life! As confusing and distant as it might seem at times, i'm just waiting for God to tell me who she'll be :) aha as if it was that easy!!
Anywhooo, i really hope you enjoy :) this song and 5 others will be on the Josh Lehman EP, which I have officially titled "Her -- The Josh Lehman EP". I am really excited to start sharing the EP and selling it and seeing what can of support I can get for my music! I will probably end up offering it on iTunes and Bandcamp as well as for free, so there will be options :)
Thank you all for listening :) it means the world to me!
God Bless,
Josh Lehman
Lyrics: Because of Two (1952) - Josh Lehman
Verse 1:
All they had was their hopes
All they had was their dreams
He watched her button her coat
As she smiled at him
He said
I don't know much but I know
I love you this I believe
One day were gonna slow
Down and age peacefully
Pre-Chorus:
Oooooh x2
Chorus:
Because two people fell in love
I'm sitting here with you
Because two hands held on tight
Were touched the way we are tonight
Because they stood the test of time
To be faithful; I feel inclined
The way he loved her back in '52
Is the same way Im gonna love you
Verse 2:
The summer they fell in love
The heavens opened above
Angels everywhere
Sons and daughters with blue eyes and curly hair
Life was changing so fast
Things were always on the move
But every night without fail
They held each other and said I love you
Pre-Chorus:
Oooooh x2
Chorus:
Because two people fell in love
I'm sitting here with you
Because two hands held on tight
Were touched the way we are tonight
Because they stood the test of time
To be faithful; I feel inclined
The way he loved her back in '52
Is the same way Im gonna love you
Bridge:
Ooohhhh
I'm gonna love you X2
Chorus:
Because two people fell in love
I'm sitting here with you
Because two hands held on tight
We're touched the way we are tonight
Because they stood the test of time
To be faithful; I feel inclined
Last lines:
The way he loves her to this very day
Is the same way mmmmm....
Im gonna love you

I completely relate to this. My Papa fell in love with my Bubbie in the concentration camps during the Holocaust. He vowed that he would marry her when they got out and made good. As they got older, my Bubbie suffered a stroke and got Dementia but his love for her never changed. He passed away around 3 years ago, and she followed him less than 6 months later. They couldn't be apart, even in heaven. I'm gonna show this to my whole family. You are truly awesome. Thank you.

I think that this song will do for you what "Gentlemen Don't" did for Gabe Bondoc. Love the lyrics of your song man, so heartfelt. Keep up the amazing work and i wish you nothing but success.
