Ok so I put my toddler in the drum and he kept complaining in the middle of my drumming that it was too hot and I told him to be quiet because I was busy, and I just rechecked and he isn't moving. Does that mean I did it wrong?

@generatrix999 Well when you put it that way every musician has "ripped off" others at some point in their lives, no matter how progressive and creative they are. There is not a lot of things people just have not ever done before.

First off, Great lesson! Why say that you are going to lead with your Right hand? Why not say lead with your right OR left hand, which ever you find more comfortable? While the triplet is fairly easy to play, moving it around the kit with great speed, smoothness and power is not at all easy.
