Joe Bonamassa is a supremely talented blues guitarist who is on the fast track to becoming a household name. His guitar skills are well recognized, and have helped him earn himself a Gibson Custom Shop signature Les Paul, a Gibson USA signature Les Paul, and now, an Epiphone version too. He's also a super nice and down to earth guy. He took a few minutes out of his busy schedule behind the scenes at NAMM 2012 to talk to The Music Zoo about his relationship with Gibson and what's coming down the line in the future. Thanks Joe!

  • @murfdog19 why would I do that? Joe's one of the nicest guys out there. No worries, my friend!

  • @murfdog19 Your so right! I picked up $800 LP Studio & $600 Epi Japanese Les Paul. I treated em both to a fret dress & a set up. A very finnicky customer was buying the EPI for his kid, he kept it & gave Jr the Studio. This guy has a lot of pricey guitars & he's been playing a EPI constantly for a almost a year now.

  • @MrUltraworld Oh, and there is A LOT of hype regarding Gibson guitars. All of the old timers believe that anything other than an original Burst or a Historic Reissue isn't a Les Paul. I don't know why everyone listens to them. What do they bring to music besides dusty old amps and even dustier playing.

  • @lexist7 Oh, I was about to get you. I thought you were calling Joe B. an ass. Then I saw you were correcting a spelling mistake. Okay, all good!!!

  • HA HA HA.. IS that the Paul Kossoff Guitar he is carrying around with him?? Guess he decided he wasn't gonna place it back in the stand and just carry it around with him!!! LOL.. I would have too Joe!!

  • @themusiczoo thanks! this guy deserves to at least have it spelled right. :)

  • @TheBucket4Life I'm a Luthier and I'll go shopping with some of my customers, to help them pick out a guitar. I've been flown to examine guitars in a private collection.

What I wanted to say is I tell them to play every LP available into their favorite amp (we bring it). I tell the them to ignore the price and the model because more than once, the best playing guitar just happens to be a Studio. Get a guitar that talks to you. Ignore the hype.

  • Thanks for the video...it's always cool to see Joe in an interview.

  • I own the Les Paul Studio version and absolutely LOVE it. Only thing that would make it better if it was sunburst. That's just me though cuz I love sunburst Les Pauls lol.
