Non sono un cantante, nè ho mai studiato canto. Sono un estimatore della musica rinascimentale, soprattutto del repertorio più popolare come le villanelle. Un giorno ho trovato nella Choral Public Domain Library (http://www3.cpdl.org/wiki/index.php/Giovanni_Domenico_da_Nola) questi brani di Giovanni Domenico da Nola, uno dei più prolifici autori di villanelle, di cui però avevo avuto modo di ascoltare solo "Cingari Simo". Insieme vi sono mischiate anche alcune opere del meno noto Giovanni Leonardo dall'Arpa. Non trovando nella discografia un lavoro dedicato a queste composizioni di Giovanni Da Nola, volevo avere almeno un'idea dell'effetto sonoro della loro esecuzione. Mi sono avvalso di una registrazione multitrack col programma GarageBand, cantando un'ottava sotto la parte superiore, e affidando le altre al flauto traverso. Le mie limitazioni vocali non mi consentono una versione corale. Ho poi voluto condividere con tutti questi miei esperimenti. Spero che tutto ciò sia preso per quel che è, un gioco innocente, e che nessuno si offenda. Sarei veramente lieto di ascoltare questi brani nell'esecuzione di un coro o di un complesso strumentale!

I'm not a singer and never studied singing. I'm a renaissance music fan, especially I like the popular expressions of this musical age, as the "villanellas". Once I found in the Choral Public Domain Library a lot of Giovanni Da Nola scores (together with some Gionanni Leonardo Dall'Arpa scores, a less known musician) . Giovanni Da Nola is one of the major "villanella" composers, but I happened to hear only "Cingari Simo" among his works. I didn't find any discographic publication with these pieces performance, but I wanted at least to have an idea about how they sound. So I made a multitrack recording using GarageBand, the highest melodic line with my voice (an octave lowered), the other melodic lines with flute, because my vocal abilities don't allow a choral version. Then I wanted to share with others my experiments. I hope that people take what I made in the right way, understending that it is an innocent amusement, not offensive, I thing, for music or musicians. I would like to hear these pieces sung by a chorus or an instrumental ensemble!

je ne suis pas un chanteur, et je n'ai jamais étudié chant. Je suis un amateur de la musique de la Renaissance, sourtout des expressions populaires, comme les "villanelle". Un jour, j'ai trouvé dans la Choral Public Domain Library ces pieces de Giovanni Da Nola, un des plus prolifiques auteurs de "villanelle", mais dont j'ai eu occasion d'écouter soulemant "Cingari simo". Je n'ai pas trouvé aucune publication discographique contenante ces pieces, mais je voulais avoir au moins une idée de comment ils sont si on l'écoute executés. J'ai donc realisé une multitrack recording avec le programme "garageband", chantant la voix la plus haute (baissée d'une octave), et jouant les autres aves la flute traversiére. J'ai voulu partager mes experiments avec tout le monde. J'espére que la gens comprenne que ce que j'ai fait est soulement un innocent jeu, et personne ne pense que ça puisse etre offensant pour la musique ou pour les musiciens. Je serais vraiment content d'écouter ces pieces chantés par un choer ou un ensamble instrumental!
