*Song is "Into the Fire" by Bruce Springsteen. Bruce Springsteen's new disc, The Rising, is the best attempt by any musician to date at capturing the emotions of post-9/11/01 America. "Into the Fire" is the one song Springsteen has said he wrote specifically about 9/11 rescue workers. "May your strength give us strength/May your faith give us faith/ May your hope give us hope/May your love bring us love," he sings with gospel choir backing in the song's simple but effective chorus. He embodies a sensibility so American that no one else could have made an album about September 11 and have it come off this well. Throughout The Rising, he approaches September 11 from a slant-wise perspective, never slamming you in the head with his message, but letting the power of the record flow naturally from the careful craft of his signature emotional ballads and rockers.

As the mom of a firefighter, my heart breaks when I hear this song. In loving memory of those 342 firefighters who lost their lives on 9/11...Thank you for your bravery. God bless your families today.

You can post all of your conspiracy theories, but ultimately....Good people died. Mothers, Fathers, Sons, Daughters, Families, Firefighters, Police Officers, Emergency Medical Technicians and all of those whom I fail to mention. I would like to personally thank the soldiers that are protecting us and making it possible for us to express our ideas and beliefs. Shame on anybody for thinking any different.
