John on stage with a bunch of extremely talented, seasoned studio vets and this version isn't NEARLY as good as when it was just John,Tom,Stu and Doug and they were 4 self taugt, garage band rock-n-rollers.

@sudeman48 i don't agree.i think it's much too fast it destroys the feeling of the song

Some things never change..........

AWESOME SINGING!!!

When bands perform live they usually pick up the tempo. In this case it makes the song better. Don't you agree?

dude the keyboard solo wasnt even that bad but this version seemed a bit rushed compared to earlier live versions

Not high and I did say "kinda sloppy," but stand by it. I meant JF had always set high standards and IMHO, he was just a bit off-kilter there--that's all. I admit I almost post a really snarky response, but I checked your page and found a fellow left-handed guitar player. Your playing is better, your musical taste is almost as good as mine! Saved from the snark.
Check out this 1970 version. It's not a fair test or a good mix, but young John was smokin' in Oakland that night: watch?v=Wy6_212JhLc
