Timed Time Attack session #2.
Keep in mind I'm still learning to find the limits of the car. It is on its second outing only since the completion of the built and first track shakedown in November 2009 at VIR.
We still have boost issues (sometimes we only get 12 to 13 psi and at other times we get 25 to 27 psi) and rear brake biasing problems. I could not stomp on the brakes to their max potential because of rear brake lock up. Data logging showed a difference of ~ 32 kph (20 mph) in wheel speed between the front and the rear wheels under hard braking causing the rear end of the car to break loose. I could not trail brake into corners. Hopefully these problems will be solved shortly.
The max speed attained at the end of the straight was 221 kph (138 mph). Max lateral G force in some corners/turns was 1.35G. The best lap was done in 56.293 seconds, good for second place that day... Not too shabby for a car still under testing and development.
You will probably notice some power on oversteer coming out of the corners and indeed there was a lot of that going on, so fun to drive and so much for understeering Audis.
Overall aside from the electronic glitches and the brakes the car was awesome and really nice to drive almost like a big GO Kart!
