Ponty V Bridgend 1997

A member of the league winning squad of 1996/97, Phil was one of a famous rugby playing family from Rumney, Cardiff, his brother Steve having played for Wales, and brother Edwin a former Ponty player. Phil came to Ponty from rugby league, where he won international honours.




After retiring as a player, Phil became manager the "Robin Hood" pub in Canton, Cardiff.

  • Great player for his rugby league clubs. Scored one of the best tries I've ever seen for Wigan v Leeds at Headingley. WRU really missed a superb winger in his prime.
