  • I would kill for that guitar.

  • I think the quality of the audio is pretty bad. Listen to his voice when he quits playing. Sounds like he is down the hall about 500 ft. I'm going to blame the tinny tone on the recording equipment rather than the Logo.

That guitar has the right Logo on it.

  • @WoWintosh How about we fast forward to current day, when this guitar is being demonstrated in a YouTube video for us to see. Also, this guy isn't playing Freddie Green's "chunking" style, like you're probably trying to describe. He's playing a delicate ballad and murdering the strings. I'm almost on edge waiting for something to snap.

That's probably a beautiful sounding guitar. Too bad we don't get to hear it from this video.

  • @bluewaterpig

Let's rewind to the days of big bands. How are you, the rhythm guitarist, going to cut through the band? There were no electric guitars in those days, if you wanted to be heard, you had to really thwack the strings. This guy isn't even playing that hard, anyway

  • That strumming is what I call guitar abuse. Lighten up a little.

  • I visited FQM when I was in Kentucky several years ago. They were some of the nicest people I've met at a music store. I was trying out a couple of mandolins and had my Breedlove mandolin with me. The sales rep was listening to me play and said "You know what, you can really play. Let's find you a quiet spot where you can really hear these instruments." So he brought my wife and I back to his own office just so we could be away from any noise or distractions.

    Great service

  • sounds shite

  • It's cool that you can hold your guitar up and play that well without the help of a strap. I would be struggling the whole time.

  • Nice playing, but if this guitar's supposed to be played acoustically, its tone and volume are pretty thin... Does it actually have a solid carved top? Not laminated?

Listen to some of the videos of Eastman archtops on here... They leave this Gibson's sound in the dust---and you know this one has to cost 4 times as much. Amazing how much emphasis people put on logos, isn't it?

(BTW, I'm just a musician, not a salesperson.)

  • @LopanTheLemming I wouldn't really kill, but I'd cut My left nut off for it.
