what about the xr 20 can i use the sounds from my keyboard on the xr 20 from akai if it has midi in and outputs?

if you connect it through midi, your xr20 would just be controlling the sequencer of the keyboard

@dirtyru1984 plug ur left and right cables in the mpc (input slots) and on ur keyboard (if its one with built in sounds) plug the left and right into the (output) slots.

now depending on how many bars u got set on the mpc is how long u play for while recording on the mpc. best get a drum track down first then hit MODE - RECORD set it to mono hit PLAY/START on mpc and DO IT and start playing. once its done hit DO IT, go back to sequencer and rec and hit the pad u assigned it to, hope this helps

yea, u can hook up and keyboard to the mpc 500 as long as u have midi in and out ports on your keyboard
