This is a montage of images of the Sun as seen from a variety of observing satellites.

At 2:21 you can clearly see Homer Simpson's profile on the surface of the sun.

A band whose music I no longer endorse's song is accompanied visually by images of the Earth and the Sun.

The images in this video are all from scientific observations of the Sun mostly using hi tech cameras with light filters on satellites. None of these images are animated or CGI.

Most of the clips are from TRACE, the Transition Region and Coronal Explorer, TRACE, a mission of the Stanford-Lockheed Institute for Space Research (a joint program of the Lockheed-Martin Advanced Technology Center's Solar and Astrophysics Laboratory and Stanford's Solar Observatories Group ), and part of the NASA Small Explorer program.

Also, videos from SoHO. SOHO, the Solar & Heliospheric Observatory, is a project of international collaboration between ESA and NASA to study the Sun from its deep core to the outer corona and the solar wind.
