I just got back from a 25 day trip. My first down the entire colorado. After the long flat float this thing was one of the worst rapids on the entire river. 6 weeks earlier our group camped out on top of this. When we got there 60 feet of the left wall had been eaten away. The right side run looked dangerous and left side run had massive waves and whirlpools. 2 of 4 boats ate the hole and one caught the eddy on the right and went around a few time. I lucked out and ran it inbetween. -- ghd

"Great fun and great run, don't do it that way now though, Pearce Ferry rapid is a class 7 ( ! V) now.
Run's still the same but tighter and greater consequences! We spent two hours scouting it. Should have a machete along to get thru the '.under brush' Finally got over top the hole along the wall and YEP it was UGLY! Glad you got pics of the run!"

WARNING VIEWERS
I received this warning re: Piece Ferry rapid video, from a person who has done dz. Grand trips.
(I liked your Pierce ferry 2007 video) ,...but let me tell you it has gotten UGLY. We ran it in Dec. of 2008. Multiple holes the size of 209 rapid, a real snake pit! I wonder if the Hi Flo experiment in Spring of 2008 had anything to do with it"
If you know the hole in 209, you'll know what he means! Piece Ferry rapid of course also sneaks up on you, after 50 miles of flat water !
