Pakistan Red Crescent Societys atrocities against Kashmiri children
PRCS claims to be a humanitarian organization, dedicated to improving lives of vulnerable segments of the society.
The core areas of the work, in line with the overall strategy of PRCS, are Disaster Management, Health Care and promotion of Humanitarian Values supported by an ongoing process of Organizational Development.
The main activities of the Society are relief work during and after disasters, both natural and man made, and primary health and welfare services for the less privileged and marginalized people.
PRCS was one of the dozens of aid groups that rushed to Muzaffarabad, the capital of Azad Kashmir soon after October 8,2005 earthquake.
It established its office on the open land of a ruined Ali Akbar Awan High School with the promise that it would vacate it soon after emergency.
It is four years now after the earthquake but the organization has not vacated the land despite several requests from AJK government to hand over the piece land to Education Department for the reconstruction of schools.
PRCS is still occupying the piece of land despite AJK government provided alternate land to the organization a long before for its offices.
Its delaying tactics to vacate the government land has delayed the reconstruct of school as a result 1500 children are forced to study in an open or in worn out tents.
