Standing for Israel on the SC Capitol Steps (Intro)

Here the threefold purpose of the rally is declared.

When we were in the planning stages of this gathering, we had no idea that this date - - May 17th would be sandwiched between the Popes visit to the Holy Land and Bibi Netanyahus visit to President Obama here in the US. But here we are, at this moment in history, with the attention of the world once again focused on this tiny country Israel, we are standing together with strength for the Jewish Nation! We may be different in our approach to this stand. To some, it makes good political sense. To some, it is obedience to Holy Scripture, and a desire to be a blessing to the People that God Himself has blessed with the Torah Some are motivated by the Rabbi that taught in shul yesterday, some are motivated by a Rabbi who walked the shores of Galilee 2000 years ago, but we are all in agreement on this (and this is the three-fold cause we declare today): Israel has a right to exist, a right to be recognized as a nation, and a right to defend its borders!
