  • WotC and Dungeon & Dragons come 2008 will try to usher in the so-called 4th age which is the idea that is will be normal to replace the table with a PC and you will have a vitual tabletop to play on via voice over ip so you talk to each other. Many (like myself) are fearful of it but then again we fear change.

  • oh god. this is hilarious. you chose to hate an edition before it even came out--it never even stood a chance in your mind.

What's funnier is we're a year into 4th ed and have yet to see the virtual tabletop--which is meant as another tool, just like your dry erase board. Most of us already use our laptops for character sheets anyway, so it makes sense to add that tool if a player wants to use it.

And, as always in dnd. The game is yours. Play it the way you want. No need to get huffy!

  • @cptmachine is it out right now?? Can i Find random people to play with>?

  • hay the next stage sucks, they turned it into an mmo on the table, i bet u wished u could take back wat u said huh?

  • i probobly need virtual desk to bcause most of my frends r scattered arouned

  • I apologize for the hostile nature of that comment. I must have been in a bad mood that day. :/ What I meant was this: Your comment states that the virtual tabletop (which we have yet to see) is intended to replace the real one, which simply is not true.

How many players play by post on forums already--and how many of them drool over a better system for playing with their friends who happen to live several states or even countries away? Virtual desktop is for them.

  • My god, do you know how to read or do you just skim the comments and make up the rest in your tiny head.

There is no negative comments in what I said, I mear pointed out that WoTC play to change how we play RPGs (Which they are) and that alot of people are fearful of where that takes us, then again its just the same as the strangeness that 3rd editon had.

My God learn to read instead of mashing your ill-informed head on the keyboard and acting like some fan-boy.

  • by now, 4th Ed is out.. and sucks ****
