@dinodragon34 Yeah, the holes are important. They allow the pressure to release from the potato without destroying the potato.
You want to poke holes in it no matter how you cook it: wrapped in foil under the coal in the grill, or wrapped in foil in the oven, or uncovered in the oven, or the microwave.
