The King Stay The King.

Pawns, they get capped quick. They're out of the game early. Unless they some smart ass pawns.

I guess they didn't have a correlation between the bishops and horses to a thug life.

I taught a thug to play Monopoly once. He was in jail the entire game.

    that would be true if:

    1. Marlo didn't already win the game while Avon is sitting in jail. He is out of the game with millions of dollars and no threat of police or rival gangs. Even if he misses it, he still won.

    2. Slim Charles is now the king in terms of the drug trade. Assuming he is still around when Avon gets out, he won't willingly step down to be the Queen. Avon never bought the product from the Greek (that was prop joe) so they would stick with Slim as that relationship is working

false they are the enforcers. Those are the pieces you frequently use to take other pieces. That's why in season 4 when bodie is killed he is unable to move backwards and shoots diagonally (pawn) while chris and snoop are moving at a diagonal direction (bishops) and O-dog comes out of the building in an L shape (knight)

Chis and Snoop were the bishops and O-Dog was the knight when Bodie fell.

I agree and disagree. Avon was and may continue to be the King after he gets out of the can but he isn't the only King of the game, Marlo tried to be the King of the opposite color but he lost quite early. Avon was trapped but wasn't checked. Marlo got trapped and checked. People who play the game can get a bump of the ranks or a switch of teams but they either get capped quicked or watch their teams suffer and eventually fall.

"No one wins. One side just loses more slowly," - Prez

On the other hand, the other players in this game weren't smart enough Stringer cared way to much about money, Prop Joe got trapped by his own "co-op" which made him make a huge mistake about Marlo: he expected to control West Baltimore by bringing Marlo into the "co-op" peacefully while he had just to show the "Greeks" that Marlo was a threat to get rid of him. As for Marlo, he was just a brutal thug who was too eager to become the king he would never be, & Avon was the only one to get this.

Actually, just imagine, after the end of the show, when Avon gets out of jail, he would just have to contact Slim Charles, Baltimore's smartest pawn, who became the queen, to rebuild his organisation. Then, he would just have to reach to "the Greeks", so that he could buy the good product again.

This scene just shows that Avon has been the damn king during the whole five seasons, he's always been the real godfather of Baltimore in this show. He has the background (his family who's been in this game for a while) the connections (to NYC for instance), and most important, he's the damn smartest player, he knows best how to use muscle and brains and why he needs money and street cred to have the power.
