Cave of Chauvet-Pont-d'Arc

At the foot of a cliff in the Ardèche Gorges, in south-eastern France, amateur cave explorers discovered the world's oldest painted prehistoric cave. The art in here is 31,000 years ago, and includes painting and engraving that show extraordinary skill and dexterity ... and genuis.

Those were not primitive artists. they had spent alot of time refining their drawing skills. you can see it in their confindence of line.

@vangard213 um, yea, that's still called art. even nowadays, if a lil kid is bored and draws on the wall with a crayon... it's art. Art is a form of expression. a drawing is art.

Tomorrow at art school I have to start a painting that suggests I'm in a cave with paintings. This video is a great help to imagine how I would feel if I really would see all this beauty.
