Here's an interesting shot... a little CSX SW switcher is pulling some local freight out of the yard near McKeesport, PA onto CSX's Pittsburgh & Lake Erie Monongahela coal line trackage. This bridge crosses the Youghiogheny River near its confluence with the Mon. This little local is pulling one rare gem for a modern train... a caboose (with bay windows and the mantra "Cross Tracks Safely.")

  • I have seen the other standard-cupola caboose (with the old-school gear drive on the side) during their switching operations nearer the yards. I'll see where it is amongst my videos and I'll upload it.

  • Hehe... I was standing in what might be considered a "questionable" spot (but not really.) I'm camped under the road bridge across the Yough at its mouth, right aside the CSX main.

  • very nice video!

  • @BNSFCSX1 Thank you!

  • Interesting shot. This is CSX D768 heading up the CSX Mon Subdivision Southbound. Where were you standing for this shot, I've never seen this angle before. CSXT 1181 is a MP15AC. The D768 always have a caboose, and its true gem is a C&O caboose that runs the local sometimes.
