In English law, high treason was punishable by being hanged, drawn and quartered (men) or burnt at the stake (women), or beheading (royalty and nobility). Treason was the only crime which attracted those penalties (until they were abolished in 1814, 1790 and 1973 respectively).[1] The penalty was used by later monarchs against people who could reasonably be called traitors, although most modern jurists would call it excessive.

@sarahleo101 but USA is not spying on his ally !! israel was spyin on their ally on dangerous times. all the lives of the USA and soldiers are put in danger everytime a top sealed document is stole because it carries facts, and noone believes facts without a document.
-
You know the US has REAL spies. What they do is illegal, but someone it's acceptable because it means saving lives.
Your apprehension against Pollard helping Israel comes from somewhere other than "what he did was illegal". It's not logical that you should want Pollard to die for what he did. He didn't endanger your life, nor did he kill or intend to kill anyone.
So it seems to me, from comments like "haha this is what is wrong with you jews.." that your issue is with Israel.

@sarahleo101 hhahaa just because im against pollard being free im anti-israel?? haha this is what is wrong with you jews.. anyone thats against you you called them anti-semitism.. shut the fuck up please i don't hate israel and im not anti-israel. im anti-pollard. hope he diessssssssssss

Neither lacking intelligence, nor taking drugs, thank you very much.
You seem very anti-israel though.
Pollard wasn't even an Israeli citizen. He didn't spy for Israel. YOU can call it what you like, but know that he was never charged as a spy, so you'd just be speculating. Wait. You seem to speculate a lot...
Anyhow, you have speculated wrong... again.

He was sentenced for ESPIONAGE, which is the exact same as "spying". They presumably didn't follow up the treason aspect because the espionage would be enough to put him behind bars for long enough.
The ONLY reason you are claiming that he shouldn't have been sent to jail for this period, is because he is a fellow "Chosen Person" like yourself, and you inherently believe that the CRIME he committed since it benefited Israel that it should be excused.
You are a danger to humanity.

For high treason and spying?
You're oblivious to the facts.
He wasn't charged with either of those.
@dannyboy860
You seem to lack the depth to understand that Pollard did not spy. At least not in the traditional sense of the word.
He gave over classified information to Israel, (a US-ALLY, not just some random foreign country), that the US was legally obligated to share with Israel in order to protect millions of Jews.
Israel has cases in its history of "one of its own... they caught... spying on israel for a foreign nation". Mordechai Vanunu. He was released from prison in 2004.

Let it be known. America had a legal obligation to divulge the information it had regarding Israel's security to its allied-nation Israel.
Pollard knew he had no legal right to divulge this information to Israel on behalf of the US since it was above his security clearance.
The information Pollard did divulge was only to save the lives of millions of Jews and did not in any-way-whatsoever endanger the lives and/or security of American citizens.
Pollard, at most, should have gotten 3-5 years.
