This is awesome. Really funky. The bit at the beginning where you play that chord really reminds me of some music from one of the original Spyro the dragon games for some reason xD. 5/5

yes I got you. Chords can be quite a complex thing to understand once you get into 7th-9th, missing 3rds and 5ths. You are right, the root note is that underlying low E that dominates it all. It is facinating though, once you step out of the D-A-G songs: have you ever noticed that the chords to Obladi Oblada are the same as to Hey Jude ? ...really fascinating...

@zaksnaporaz Most pop and rock songs share the same chord progressions, you can problaby find hundreds of songs if not more that has the same chords

I got your point, but relative to the E root we have a 7th, a 9th and a 6th ..no root, no 5th no 3rd whatsoever. And then a 7th, a 9th and - oh at least we got the 5th from the E ...can you really call that a E9 ?
zaksnaporaz 1 year ago
@zaksnaporaz Its has the main sound of the E9 without necessarily contain all the notes, We still can play a for example A7 with 3 notes on a bass Root , b7 and third and its has the main characteristics of the A7 chord omitting the third.
What do you mean there is no Root? It starts with a thundering E in the bass line implying the tonic..

hi Marl'. To me that is not a E9 chord: it's a chord composed by following notes D-F#-C# > D-F#-B, which is a Dmaj7 (or F# aug5 w5 no3 or C#9 sus4 no5) to D6, or have I got it wrong ?
you are really the best groover !

@zaksnaporaz Root note decides the chord, in this instance E. If I was playing the Root D then it would be a a D6/DMaj7
