Modeling and Simulation (M&S) based frameworks provide a reliable method to analyze the behavior of complex real-time application. In most cases, development of real-time controllers is challenging and has numerous constraints. The DEVS (Discrete Event systems Specification) formalism provides a formal foundation to M&S that proved to be successful in different complex systems through the combination of a simulation-based approach with the rigor of a formal methodology.
