I'm back for another tour of my Japanese apartment. Only this time- it's bigger!
This was filmed in Tsukuba Science City, Japan, about 45 minutes outside of Tokyo (accessible via the Tsukuba Express, or TX). I hope you enjoy, and check back later for informative videos on food, life, people, and culture in Japan!
The website for the apartment is here: http://jsthouse.com/ninomiya/
If you plan on living here, keep in mind that it is only intended for international researchers, so your company should help you out. Post any questions about it to the comments section, and I'll hopefully be able to answer them. Thanks for watching! ^_^

To answer some of your questions:

I apologize about my terrible accent and also for how slow this video is! When I made it, I was only making it to send home to my family and friends. I never expected it would get so much traffic! I'm so embarrassed! (=^_^=)

As for the apartment, I was lucky enough to have it paid for by the research institution I was working for. Here is the pricing to live here in Ninomiya House, from their website:
Rent:
for one person is 76,000/month or 2,533/day
for two persons is100,000/month or 3,334/day
(Very reasonable!)
* Utilities (gas, electricity, water) and Community Facility Fee are not included
Remember that you must be a researcher to be eligible to live here. Sorry for those of you who are not researchers!

It was several years ago now when I stayed in Japan. For those of you curious on where I am now, I went on to publish a pretty cool paper from my time in Japan that I am proud of. Since then, I have started a few companies utilizing the Internet. I help people start their own business and live their dreams! One of my companies is an online franchise that operates in several countries including the US, Canada, Australia, UK, Philippines, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. I am looking for passionate individuals to join my team and travel with us to those countries! Message me your dreams and your current location if you are interested in working together, and I will get in touch if I feel there is a potential for a fit. Looking forward to hearing from you!

  • Put a nice comfy seat on that other room where it echoes, and read a book there or listen to music while having a good view outside?

    Just a thought.

  • That's not a bad idea. Thanks! If I was staying longer than two months, then I might take the time and money to invest in a chair to put there, so maybe I will if I end up coming back for a longer duration in the future. My guess was confirmed by someone that you should hang your clothes there rather than outside to protect the from nature's forces lol. So if it's too cold in the winter for your clothes to dry outside, then you can hang them there instead.

Thanks again for the idea though! (^o^)

  • wow it seems alot bigger than most apartments ive seen. How much does that run a month?

  • Well my company is paying for it, so i just pay for utilities (ie gas, water, electric), but from the website, it is: 1 person 76,000Y/2people 100,000Y. And I'm staying in the 2-person apartment (63 sq m). I also get free internet and good facilities. HOWEVER, you must be an international researcher in order to live in the building, and your stay is limited to 2 years. I posted the website into the description.

    I hope that helps! ^_^

  • Why did you use an English accent with the Japanese? e__e

  • No offence but i hate how americans/English speakers put such an enfisis(i don't know how to spell this word) on the Japanese letters like K, R and others...well pretty much every single one. Like how he said KO-nichiWA KORI DESU, does not sound right!!!!!1
