CARNUZ segment on how to safely install an infant seat and child booster seats. Very informative. Turn up the volume.

Summer vacation has traditionally been a celebration involving barbecues and traveling. However, as the number of travelers increases, so does the number of traffic accidents and the need for additional safety precautions. Child safety is of particular concern, as there are many families on the road. To ensure a child's wellbeing in a car, auto experts from DaimlerChrysler say parents should ensure young passengers are seated in the appropriate car seat and that it is properly secured.

Watch as experts demonstrate how to properly install car seats, booster seats and children from infants to children up to 40lbs. and over. You may pick up even one small tip of advice that you hadn't learned before, possibly saving a life in the future!

Wonderful presentation that is not only great for safe summer travels, but for always.

  • I wish the video would include info about 5-pt harness that goes up to 80 lbs, and it did not show a convertable carseat when baby;s grow ou of there carriers, and one year of age is just the minimum, children should remain rear-facing in convertable until they reach the wieght or height for rear-facing.

The infant in the carrier did not look to be in good body allingment.

  • Thank you for addressing this issue! This is a production put out by the auto manufacturer and we will make sure they receive your suggestion. Thanks! Great input!

  • I agree... baby looked like she was slouching

and he pulled the recline out all the way, when it didn't need to be that far out for such flat seats.

  • also, while the handle was down, it was not in one of the positions graco allows... gotta check the manual... not all infant seats are the same.

  • remember also that not all cars allow Latch in the center

kids should rearface as long as possible (my daughter did until 2.5yrs old) and then stayharnessed as long as may be.
