@legomovie1024 If you think that's a moth then you're an idiot.

Amazing to watch. I filmed one going from caterpillar to chrysalis - hope to catch it emerging in a week or so. Does everybody have to go to the nursery twice a week for more milkweed like we do when a new batch hatches?

@OrtegaALOHAS - With "alohas" in your name, are you in Hawaii? If so, you need Crown Flower, which if you scout your neighborhood you might find a supply that you can tap. I'm trying to grow my own, and it is finally taking hold. One of my clippings comes from Washington Place and probably was planted for Queen Liliuokalani when she lived there (Crown Flower was her favorite).

It's not a butterfly, it's a moth because there are two dots on it's wings.
Oh, and did you release it yet?

@legomovie1024 - It is indeed a Monarch butterfly. The dots on its wings indicate that it is male. This video has been posted for almost four years now. I have raised and released hundreds of Monarchs since then.

@gergnesdunk I bought my kids the butterfly garden and the coocon fell in the cup. Will it still turn into a butterfly? The net on top for them has holes in it. It's hard for them to stay on it.

@linerd5757 - If there's still a short stem on the top of the chrysalis, you can tie some thread around it and hang it or use an alligator clip and devise some way to suspend it vertically until the butterfly emerges. The short fall should not hurt it, but handle the chrysalis carefully.
