In Part Two of this two-part series, Martin Fry discusses how ISO 50001 can be used by all organizations across all sectors. He also talks about how the standard was developed using existing standards and best practices.
Martin Fry is a Royal Academy of Engineering Visiting Professor at City University London. He is also a former assessor for the Carbon Trust Standard (formerly the Energy Efficiency Accreditation Scheme), is a council member of the Energy Institute and is Chairman of the Energy Services and Technology Association.
Martin led the UK input for EN 16001, which is the European Energy Management Standard. He also has a similar role for ISO 50001 and will continue to provide input until publication, presently due in mid 2011.
