I actually worked here at one point, its run on batteries which have issues, Constantly get sent for repairs, and its overhead is at least 4x lower to make this. they do go all out on the paint, feels great riding, but hard to control at the speed sometimes. I know celebrities buy it only cuz they can, and even then, get treated like everyone else, with constant"upgrades" requiring to have it sent back in to have installed..a big Hell no cuz the cost and trouble aint worth it

Even the greatest bike is just a bike.

But why a customer should pay $7-8 extra for R&D had been already done? Wasn't it pleasure for the developers?

Prototypes:

MTB + mid-drive conversion kit will give you almost the same value for 1/6 price.

Kalkhoff pedelec (who can over-design Germans?) for 1/4 price is even more suited for urban commuting and a few kg lighter.

I saving up for one, the cheapest model they have runs around 6k and is built for commuting which is exactly what I want it for. I'll pay no gas, get more exercise, not have to pay for or deal with parking and get to my campus much faster by avoiding traffic jams by taking a paved bike trail.
