That's a 223? I can't imagine what the coyote looked like that my dad shot with a .30-06.
-
@ScarletAvatar Its a Nosler-tipped round, not just a normal FMJ .223. The entire purpose of that polymer tip is to induce that violent explosive result, regardless of range.
-
holy shit! That had to have been inside of a 100 yards, I've never seen .223 break up like that anywhere past that.
-
I use 40gn sierra blitzking in my .223. I find they shoot flatter that the 50gn yet still offer excellent kills out to 300m . 23.2gns of AR2207 pushes it along at just under 3700fps. The blitzkings shoot tighter groups than the vmax projectiles in my Remington BDL 700 SS.

Boattail. Excellent bullet. They are a tad more solid than V-Max. I load with Benchmark2.

I used the 64(?) grain partitions in .223 for my very first deer hunt several years ago. They blew apart a deer with a broadside behind the shoulder shot.
-
Unless you just like having to stitch up hides, you need to slow that bullet down.

I am using hornady Vmaz 50 grain with 22grains ADI 2206, in a Howa 1500 .223
