Female Genital Mutilation - UK

The controversial tradition at the heart of African culture has now reached the shores of Europe. Today, over 500 British girls are estimated to have undergone the procedure of female genital cutting.

Many young girls would get excited at the prospect of going on holiday but Jamelia knew that the plane she boarded was taking her to be 'circumcised'. Jamelia was cut in an empty mansion by an old woman, strangers held her down and a clean razor was only used when more money exchanged hands. "I remember the blood everywhere", Jamelia says, "one of the maids actually saw her pick up the bit of flesh they cut out." Miriam's womb was accidentally sealed when she was cut and now she cannot have children. "It will stay with me until the day I die." Now, the NHS confirms that cutters are flown over to the UK to cut girls in batches - a cheap alternative. The UK has more girls at risk of bring cut than any other European country and as yet no-one has been prosecuted for the crime.

This needs to STOP!!!! its the equivolent of a man getting his penis cut off!! What is so ignorant on their part is that the female ovaries is what makes a woman want sex, not the clitoris. but if you take out the ovaries the population would die out which actually wouldnt be a bad thing in this case. the men in this culture need to grow some balls! the men there are just jealous of the female clitoris. it gives women far more pleasure than a man can ever imagine!

Is it controversial if someone tortures the vile scum that does this. The extreme religions are the cause of no good, just evil. They should be erraticated like the vermin they are. This is all because of the sick perverted religous zealots and their insecurities. They dominate through fear. Women of these religions are commiting suicide and lighting themselves on fire to get away from these "men". There is nothing in even their twisted religion that says this is ok. Die Scumbags!

@NerdyCanadian male circumcision is wrong but the cutting off the clit is like cutting off the male penis head not the foreskin!! female is far worse but i agree male circumcision is wrong and should be outlawed!

@Ichi929 It is the exact same. The age is irrelevant. The foreskin has IIRC 20,000 nerve endings and the clitoris I believe has 8,000. Mutilating genitalia has one purpose : to destroy the pleasure of masturbation (which is a healthy and normal act) and to stop the pleasure of sex, which is also a healthy and normal act. It's sick, perverse wrong and harmful to cut genitalia of boys or girls.
