Blind Luck, the 6-5 favorite in a full field of 14 fillies for the Kentucky Oaks (gr. I) April 30 at Churchill Downs, rallied from last to catch Evening Jewel in the last jump. The daughter of Pollards Vision covered the nine furlongs in 1:50.70 in front of a record Oaks day crowd of 116,046.

Tidal Pool set the early pace in the Oaks, and held on to finish third.

Blind Luck paid $4.60, 3.60, and $2.80. Evening Jewel paid $9.40 and $7.20. Tidal Pool returned $5 to show.

Blind Luck scored her fourth grade I victory in the Oaks. She won the Oak Leaf Stakes and Hollywood Starlet as a 2-year-old and added the Las Virgenes Stakes at Santa Anita in mid-February. In all, Blind Luck has won seven of 10 starts.

  • RA Lost to Unrivaled Belle, who is also a Breeders cup Ladies Classic Champion. Rachel lost to quality , unlike some suggest.

  • @europeracing - Macho again won the Stephen Foster, Bullsbay won the whitney, and MTB won the Derby, and she beat them all. RA Losing to Awesome Gem(BCLC WINNER), and Zardana is nothing to hang your head over. queenLucia is 100% correct.

  • WOW I AM A FAN OF HORSE RACING IS VERY INTENSE OF WACTHING BUT IN HERE IN THE PHILLIPINES MY FAVORITE HORSE IS NAME IBARRA HE IS UNDEFEATED BUT IN A STAKES RACES HE IS LOSE I DONT KNOW IF THE JOCKEY IS BEING PAID OR NOT IF SOMEBODY SPONSORED ME IN WACTCHING HORSE RACES IN THE UNITED STATE OF AMERICA AM VERY THANKSFUL TO GOD AM 55 YEAR OLD NAME RUDY MACABINGKIL

Garbage? You sir are not a true racing fan. All real fans respect ALL horses. She ran 8 races last year, 3 against the guys. What filly has done that this year? Have crushed the boys?I'm sorry to say but Blind Luck does not match the greatness of RA's 3 year-old year. And Btw. She didn't duck crap. If you didn't realize, she wasn't ready. A horse needs time after such a long lay-off. Like most educated horsemen would know. Obviously you wouldn't.

  • @europeracing

Ducking? You realized she ran on more surface, more tracks, more states, more races than any other mare last year. Show her little respect! Nothing wrong with Blind Luck, to me shes a wonderful filly. But really? California pride goes a long way with you jerks. Meanwhile, what males has Blind Luck taken on? Beaten? Crush by 6 lengths? Yup. None.

    Rachel Alexandra = G-A-R-B-A-G-E

She ducked the 2009 Travers. She ducked the 2009 Breeders Cup. She ducked the 2010 Apple Blossom. She ducked the 2010 Stephen Foster. She ducked 2010 Breeders Cup.

Meanwhile she beat Macho Again, BullsBay and Mine That Bird. Macho Again is currently breeding in Venezuela, because the Lexington, KY outfits want no part of him.

  • @DBJMKJ

Oh and I geuss Rachels outstanding record winning margin of 20 lengths was nothing? She took 2 seconds off of Blind Luck's win. She would have EASILY beaten her as a 3 year-old.

  • we got to see this race...ZENYATTA, RACHEL ALEXANDRA AND BLIND LUCK together..the race of the decade
