Hi. I'm very interested in details on your instrument panel. I have a J34, and it appears to be in running condition - but I have no control panel. Any chance you would have pics or details? (I work for an A&P school that acquired a lot of stuff from Parks College - but not a lot of info on much of the stuff. The J34 is on a run stand.)

Heard that these were worthless and underpowered.

i have welded the flanges on these turbines on audamatic curcumfrince welders threw doncasters. Have welded alot of rolls royce components to. have worked on alot of westinghouse overhauls also.

are jet engines more efficient than internal combustion engines? Btw, the cameraman was smart to stay far away from the the front of the engine.

@piper4seeformerly That is actually very difficult to answer due to the vastly different power output and uses of turbine engines. But as far as thermal efficiency, turbines and I.C. Engines have around the same efficiency- Somewhere between 25-40%. The major advantage of turbine engines is their very high power to weight ratio. And yes, it is advisable to stay at least 25 feet from the intake of a turbine engine.
