  • I say, as a pagan, that this woman is the kind of christian I respect.... Not hateful, not intolerant, but loving as her religion dictates.... I believe the Jesus was merely a great man... Very wise, very kind... She wishes to emulate this and show love and mercy to all she can... She is the Christian equivalent of a Wiccan... Blessed be Anne Rice...

Much love, Your Lestat addicted reader

  • She has not quit being a Christian she has simply chosen to follow the teaching of Christ without being told by others what to believe. I say welcome back to the true Christianity a singular relationship with God and yourself. Organized religion is just that, religion organized by man to understand God. Unfortunately the message of love and forgiveness was lost by man putting his own faults and hates into the mouth of God. Christ never asked his followers to be hateful, but simply to love.

  • I'd also like to point out that the holier than though catholic big wigs covered up sexual abuse within their ranks for decades...DECADES! Transferring Father Pedophile from parish to parish in the hope he wouldn't do it again. I respect Anne Rice for having the courage to speak out, knowing there would be backlash. She a better Christian than most

  • First of all, let me just say that I am straight; spiritual / not religious. I believe in a higher power, but religion is man made; scriptures were written by men. People pick and choose what passages fit their personal beliefs. In regards to homosexuality: there is an on going debate between gay being a choice or they being born that way. How can "God" hold someone accountable for something they have no control over? Gays commit suicide over all the bullying. Is that what Christians want?

  • I have always loved this woman and her beliefs and knowledge that she translated into her wonderful books. This has just added to my respect another 10-fold. Anne Rice is just amazing. Another of the few voices of reason in the midst of a country of superstition and bigotry.

  • I'm glad Anne Rice chose her son over religion. That makes her a good mom.

  • @disruptcomfortzones No, that's not the issue. And you people MIGHT have a leg to stand on when it comes to homosexuality if you put half as much energy into fighting the eating of shellfish, working on the Sabbath and cursing your parents, COMBINED! And what adultery? Yeah, I'm sure you care about it, but people like you don't mention that NEARLY as much as homosexuality. It's because you're using religion as an excuse to hate people who are different than you, it's as simple as that.

  • As a fellow Catholic, I respect Anne Rice and she inspires most of what I write. She is amazing woman and I would love to meet her one day. :) God Bless You Anne Rice! <3

  • @disruptcomfortzones So, where is her rebuttal? No Rebuttal? How journalistic of you Lemon!

So she read the scripture for 12 years and can't connect back to Christ?

So where is the rebuttal from a Theologian?

Jesus clung as a RAbbi to the Bible that he knew existed for 10,000 years.

  • @disruptcomfortzones dear god where is your basis.

  • i really believe Ann wants the church to compromise there beliefs and standards so that people can feel more comfortable in their sins....God Bless the people who continue to speak out against sin and stand up for what is right...Judgement is coming to America soon and it's time to repent...whether Homosexual or not...Judgement is at the door...REPENT!!!!!

  • John 15:19 (Amplified Bible)

If you belonged to the world, the world would treat you with affection and would love you as its own. But because you are not of the world [no longer one with it], but I have chosen (selected) you out of the world, the world hates (detests) you. The world Loves her, so what does that say?????????
