So where are you from? Judging from you coming in via I-85, as well as a "quick roadtrip" and the southern accent of your husband/boyfriend, I'd have to say some place like Greenville, SC or Charlotte, NC.
As far as the "olympic torch" goes, that is not the torch. The torch is near Turner Field, as that was the original olympic stadium before it was converted. The torch you saw was simply and advertising torch put up during the olympics but never taken down.
