Just bring the cockatiel in the bathroom. let them perch on the shower rod. Fill the sink half way. Bring the tiel down and place him or her in the sink. I use luke warm water, then I dry them off. They don't get mad at all, just be nice. Oh and they (the 2 i own) love lays potato chips. just found out today!
If she was a normal grey, then if she was a boy yes she would have a yellow face with orange cheeks. She is a pied(?) and they cannot be sexed with the eye, so in that case she COULD be a he but not for the reason you're stating. Plus she only has the orange cheek, not really a yellow head.
wow! my arnie is just nine weeks old and today i sprinkled him with water and thats what he did! i thought he was having a seizure (one of my birds recently seized and passed away) and i freaked out! i looked up "cockatiel bath" and this is what i got. i am so in love with this my little guy! what a darling response to witness from a bird friend!

i thought u could tell the difference by color too but the only way to tell the sex of a cockatiel is by a blood test
