This is my TNT transmitter typical of the late 20's early 30's. This rig uses a 45 triode and puts out 2 watts of power. It was built using period components. I have coils to operate on 80 and 40 meters and it is set up for 80 in the video. This is lots of fun but requires careful tuning to produce a stable note.

  • Nice rig Joe, I have a 245 TNT too.

These old style rigs are a lot of fun and surpisingly effective.

  • Joe a crystal Hartley is quite a bit different than a tnt transmitter?

  • you can build one it's dirt simple

mine uses a VT-4C with 750 volts on the plate

can get a big 10 to 15 watts out on 80 meters

  • Gimme one

  • Outstanding workmanship, after viewing the video one wants to build a copy for themself!
