If u watch the special features, the info with the virals, Weyland talks of picking up the beacon from his long range scans, from Yutani ECIU software. And that he wud hav a David 8 on the ship, programmed with this information, that only he would know of this other point of origin. So David already knows about LV-426.

I often wonder if they can manufacture such nearly perfect androids, they would try to think of a way to get a human brain/consciousness into one, a kind of immortality like the Star Trek episode "I, Mudd".

More than anything, the desk in the captain`s area had a 3D map reconstruction tool, that nobody seemed to know. I wonder if the geologist(red headed guy) himself knew about it or not... But, of all the characters, David was best.

LOL, some people on blogs rationalized that these nutcases are on board the ship because Vickers want the mission to fail from the very beginning. And I would bet that is what Lindelof will latch onto...claiming that was his intention from the very beginning having these misfits on board the ship, just to camouflage his own lousy writing.
