This clip is from Joseph D. Clinton's talk on "Synergetics 101: In the Spirit of Frobel, Clinton, Fuller, Loeb, and Haken" from the Synergetics Collaborative's Fall 2007 Symposium on "Synergetics and Morphology: Explorations into the Shapes of Nature" at the Rhode Island School of Design (3 Nov 2007). Clinton introduces the basic concepts from Synergetics through the work of several kindred spirits. The concepts discussed include synergy, design science, world game, Dick Boyd, rotegrity, Arthur Loeb, Archimedes, Froebel, Hermann Haken, self-organization, Planetarium, Holography, and emergent behavior.

The Synergetics Collaborative's 2007 Symposium on "Synergetics and Morphology: Explorations into the Shapes of Nature" at RISD (Rhode Island School of Design) brought together some 90 lovers of "form" ("philomorphs") from around the world to explore the interrelationships of morphology, structure, Nature, and Bucky Fuller's Synergetics.

The Synergetics Collaborative (SNEC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organizing events for anyone with an interest in learning about or building upon Buckminster Fuller's Synergetics.

  • Frank, There have been a few passionate explorers of Buckminster Fuller's Synergetics like Joe Clinton. Now we have some critics. Which is good and healthy. But because there have been too few explorers and too few critics, the kinks in our understanding of Synergetics have not yet sorted themselves out. And I, like you, think that Synergetics, requires some filling in of gaps and probably even the removal of several flaws. I am confident however that it can be built into a science.

  • So synergetics is not a study of a behaviour of a system unpredicted by the behaviour of it's parts taken separately? Is the premis of synergetics changing again?

  • It seams in the lapse time 9.20 min. of this video as if you contradicting what -S- is.

-S- is a behaviour of a system unpredictable by the behaviour of it's parts taken separately, : So this statement is not true any more?? Why is -S- so confusing and so inconsistent, why only so narrow group of people understand this easily teachable subject. PERHAPS, -S- appears to be more of a wishful thinking than a valid curriculum material.
