You need: 1. a computer running MythTV (typically on Linux), 2. MythTV for iPhone (link is in the sidebar), 3. an iPhone of course.
Unless you already have MythTV or plan to install it, this is not for you.

i guess mythtv is cool but i prefer the hava box. like some dude said mythtv doesn't have an aplication for windows and the app that is out there you have to do all this crap to install it. oviously when this was made the creater forgot that more then 90% of the country is running on windows and im not about to buy another computer cause i love my windows.

Hehehe - this is great. I'm bemused that Windows users have been waiting for ages for a proper working Frontend and Apple users already have something for the iPhone. :) Yay for Unix platforms!

MythTV actually runs on any number of computers - Windows, Linux, Apple/Mac... It's a program that functions like a Tivo, but it's free, open-sourced, and more feature-rich.
Thing is, you need to have a computer attached to your TV, unless you watch TV and movies at your computer.

Actually for the most part, I use an XBOX attached to the TV to play the MythTV shows. The xbox is running xbmc-myth.
