This is untrue ! Bet you "absolutely" didn't ask your Vet if it was a good idea ?
As far as using hair {from long-haired cats} it's done but not by sheering them like sheep !
It's easy to get copious hair from daily or weekly COMBING ! BTW, cats, either long or
short-haired, need frequent combing to remove dead hair and allow air to reach their skin, etc.

@Peeps1698 you ain't so post to save head legs chest tail of a cat if you do the cat can get to cold the head feet and tail and chest is what keeps there body temp evenly reason to shave other parts like for example like a poodle or a lion style wen its to hot and her cat is panting to hard or if the cat have bad knots or gross stuff on it.

Believe it or not, it isn't "poor cat", people shave their cats like they shave their dogs. It is absolutly no different. Many people actually make yarn out of longer cat hair and make different things out of it. Both my cats get shaved so they don't suffer in the heat.
The cat doesn't look annoyed, angry or anything bad, he looks quite content and happy.
