With no chain connected, I decided to see where the rev limiter stops the speedo from going past...

  • Didn't hit the rev limiter btw...that was just the shift light which can be adjusted by the user by accessing the gauge menu. Still a fun idea whether it's good for the motor or not...better than someone doing it out on the road when maybe they don't possess the ability to go that speed.

  • @tjpike88 Oh how do I do that then??

I can change the time, mph/kph etc...but how do i change where the shift light is activated? :D

And yes, I thought it would be stupid of me to post a video of me breaking the speed limit to that extent haha! I wouldn't fancy being woken up by the cops after seeing it on YouTube lmao!!!

  • Your motor now hates you for that.... When you rev a motor then shut it down, you burn oil off the cylinder walls, so next time you start it, its metal on metal.

  • @TheDarkDrums I shall apologise to her.

But you know what, I never knew that! It has taught me to never do it again though!

    Thanks dude!

  • @ultrapetey No problem man, My dad and I have been racing cars forever and we've blown more motors then id care to admit lmao :)

I had an 04' R6 until a few months ago.. it got stolen :( :( i only had her 2 months..!!

  • @TheDarkDrums Theft should be a capital punishment everywhere on this planet.

    That should stop the scum!!!!

  • I hit 179mph on my 02 cbr600f4i but mine was modded it only hit about 150 something stock but nice video

  • the guy saying 155 is the top speed is a dork ! i have an 06 600rr and ive taken her to 163 actually riding!! i also had room to go so that claimed 177mph is pretty accurate id say

  • ma che video di merda!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @ultrapetey you can't change the shift light on this 600rr, maybe the new rr's can do that?

but these days most of the motorcycles can!

  • @ultrapetey I know bro. I didn't have theft insurance either, so im still paying on it and i don't have it any more. I was off the bike for 45min. and it was gone. And i live in the middle of nowhere so they had to of scoped my house out or followed me home... but, i was doing 135mph the whole way home so im pretty sure it was them following me haha.

  • @viprez586 My '03 600RR was bouncing off the rev limiter reading between 173 and 174 mph...it never showed 175 even holding it for a few seconds. We all know that at that speed it's really not that accurate so I'm sure the claimed 166mph is a lil closer to reality. Just thought I'd share my experience with my very similar bike. Check my videos for my new '07 1000RR! Later

  • There is no load or anything on the engine transmission or rear wheel, thus it's totally inaccurate.

Top speed is said to be 166mph.

I've tested it up to 155mph.
