Just as a clarification, LRH isn't saying that he isn't from this planet, he's saying his thetan (or spirit) isn't from this planet. You learn that because there's the difference between Incident I and II. It's still pretty ridiculous unless you believe this stuff though...

This is true. Hubbard is indeed referring to the 'thetan' that occupies the LRH body. So instead of telling a group of people he's an alien from another planet, he's telling a group of people he's an immortal ghost who's only dropped in for a visit.
