When I went back to Shanghai for the Expo I try to avoid the rush hour lol cuz this is why.I've only took the metro once during that visit during rush and thats what happen but wit way more ppl. I had to tackle my way out.

Once I started sniffing, coughing and sneezing on line 1 and everyone moved away from me by about 30cm XD

no ur wrong during rush hour basically line 1'2 and line 8 are squishy and line 3,4.5.6.7.9 are all empty

depend on which line you take. the suburb to downtown line are pretty empty no matter what time you take it. line 1 and 2 are like this all the time.

I always ride the Shanghai Metro when there is no rush hour.
(morning 7-10 AM evening 4-7 PM and Sunday)
If I go that time, I will be squished in there and somebody will push me in!
