Parliament is set to discuss amendments proposed by the President to the PRICE CONTROL BILL 2009. The Bill was passed in the House mid last year and only needed Presidential assent to become law. But the President now wants adjustments made on some of the clauses in the Bill that analysts fear would be unhealthy in a free market.

  • we've tried it wth oil, and oh my see what happened?

  • Price controls will greatly harm the economy and tax revenues will decrease. Hopefully there are enough representatives that grasp this. The problem is a global one with speculators in the global markets pushing prices upwards.

  • DREADED BILL....come on NTV, dreaded by who? The common mwananchi? Surely not!!!

  • to hell with 'trade partners'...national interests come first: feed the people.
