  • you are right,I am a pianist myself and I noticed that too.Indeed the style is somewhat close to Fats's.I doubt i'ts him playing though as its someone more Johnson oriented.It may have been other pianists with a similar style from that era.Now I am really interested in who it is playing in the picture,could it be Donald Lambert in his younger days? It sure fits stylistically...the guy at the piano sure shows some musical background

  • This video presents an interesting little mystery. The second and third clips are clearly not Fats playing style and he isn't on the screen. The first clip is a little tougher...it SOUNDS like Fats. Although the chap in the video isn't him, if you look closely, the playing in the first clip doesn't match up with the sound at all. The actor is clearly faking it. It could be Fats who was then re-recorded to produce the dance part. I can find no background about any of these clips.
