@TheHainikklaz I assume it was tuned for high numbers of torque and not so much MPG. If they really wanted an economical van, they could have just used a small V8 or V6 instead of a 6.2L.

@jml8841 Well that is because the 6.2 Diesel was never made to have much horsepower. It was made to get high MPG rather then power and you will notice how good it's MPG is compared to other V8s from the 80's and 90's ...
Still, the Chevy/GMC van is a lot better comfort then that new VW van has and as a whole lot other feeling when you drive.

All they had to do was pull out the Ruger Mini-14's and shoot the tires of the VW. That would have slowed em down.

Further proof that Fifth Gear is rubbish!
They can't even hook up a good comparison. They couldn't be bothered to find a true replica A-Team van, whoever ownes the one they got is more into curising at low speed on drug dealer pimp red sofa seats, I bet the back has shagpile carpet and a mini disco... Factory stock 4.3l V6 engine not the 400hp 5ltr tuned 350 V8 that the master mechanic BA whould have opted for and no doubt ported himself. Obviosuly this was more about showing off the VW -fail
