This is part 2 of a 2 video series in which I describe a method of making panels for electronic devices specifically synthesizers but the method could be used for bench equipment, amplifiers, etc. I hope you find it useful.

  • Thanks for the tips. I never realised that a little bit of spray oil made such a difference to drilling large holes in aluminium. I've always had problems with the plate snagging and spinning round so i always fasten down what i'm drilling, but maybe the oil will help.

  • @ChrisLody The oil makes a real difference but the 6061 T6 aluminum is also a little harder than some I've worked with and it machines better than the softer material I used to use.

  • Very good tutorial!

  • @sonicfunplex Thank you very much I'm glad you found it useful.

  • The only way you'll ever get my "ruler" whose length is based on the never varying universally accepted size of a monarch's foot from me is to pry it from my cold dead, about seven inch long, hands. Just kiddin' :-) Excellent comment! If anyone wants to list the corresponding drill sizes (metric or drill number) please feel free to do so in a comment it would be highly appreciated. Thanks.
