they can use that as a smoke screen to close banks and hold our money....anything you can think of...they claim they have the right to do to us. of course it's all FOR OUR OWN GOOD!..yeah right!!!

Oh well; I guess this means time to break out the pick and shovel; Start growing my own food becuase my checks / debits would not work anymore at the grocery store. Come to think about it; Grocery stores would have food simple the bank holiday would shut down messed up big time the on time supply and demand business of bring food to your local grocery store. I could be wrong; what do you think?

Well, if we look back to Indymac Failure there were big inconveniences to people who lined up for days to get their money out, and they were given "rations" not full amounts. So its best to avoid that hassle in my opinion.

In 2001, Argentina had a very similar situation with a serious economic collapse, the ATM's were emptied within a day and banks were closed for some time, when reopened with barricades and only issued $300/week as a withdrawal limit.

I agree with you but the gov will honor the fdic by printing the money and there is no point in making a run on the bank because your worthless dollars will be there.

The FDIC is broke, and the banking system is failing. The FDIC Fund as of March 2009 was 13Billion.  Since then several more banks have failed which put FDIC into a negative balance of 0.7Million.

So who's gonna bail out the FDIC when they are broke? The Federal Reserve!... But they are only printing more money based on nothing which will bring in hyperinflation and make your $ worthless, like in 1920's Germany, or Belarus, Yugoslavia, Zimbabwe, etc...
