Steve Doherty at SKB 2011

Steve Doherty is the new Artist/Editor at the helm of the reincarnated "Plein Air Magazine". Steve was a guest of the Susan Kathleen Black Foundation's 10 Year Anniversary Celebrations in DuBois, Wyoming in September. And in this short video Steve outlines a little of his own artistic background and interests and provides a clear glimpse into the artistic aesthetics he is trying to instill into this new publishing effort focused on the Fine Art of Painting Outdoors.

I am both a studio artist and a plein air painter. When I can handle the weather conditions I choose plein air 9 times out of 10! I've enjoyed getting the new Plein Air Magazine and their weekly newsletters. My one request would be for additional artist opportunities to listed from more areas of the country. Right now there doesn't seem to be a great deal of opportunites listed for the Midwestern part of the country. Diane Overmyer
